What's multi-media liability?

This happens when your business or employees publish content online that may leave you exposed to accusations of libel, slander, defamation, plagiarism and infringements of copyright or privacy. These accusations can be costly and have a lasting reputational damage.

A real world example

When a hotel started a blog to talk to their customers and the public, it contained a logo/image that was extremely similar to an image that had been copyrighted by another entity. The original entity contacted the hotel demanding that they remove the image immediately. Long story short, legal proceedings began and the entity demanded more than $5 million in damages. The defence costs and expenses that the hotel incurred exceeded $1 million.

NZI Cyber Base and Cyber Ultra provide cover for breach of copyright under the Multimedia Insuring Clause, helping you stay afloat and defend against accusations.
