Do I need to sign up for this service?

No, the NZI Roadside Rescue service is included as part of your light commercial vehicle insurance cover

I have an existing commercial vehicle policy with NZI, when does the Roadside Rescue benefit apply?

If you have a current NZI commercial vehicle policy for a light commercial vehicle, NZI Roadside Rescue services apply to that vehicle from 1 Feb 2025

What is a light commercial vehicle?

Any vehicle under 3.5 tonnes GLW (Gross laden weight) and under 5.5 metres in total length, that is insured under a commercial vehicle policy with NZI

Does it matter who is driving the insured vehicle?

No. It doesn’t matter who is driving, if they’re licensed to drive the insured vehicle at the time of the breakdown, they can access NZI Roadside Rescue services. 

When I’m driving a different vehicle, can I still call NZI Roadside Rescue?

Only if you are driving a light commercial vehicle insured with NZI

Is there a limited number of call outs?

There is no limit to the number of times you use the NZI Roadside Rescue service except for emergency fuel call outs. The emergency fuel benefit has a maximum use of three times per period of insurance.
